Golden Helmet and Silver Armour Gorge

Golden Helmet and Silver Armour Gorge is one part of Lesser Three Gorges. It is located in 10km downstream of the Hengshi Stream, Wushan Mountain. In Hengshi Stream Area there are steep mountains and an unique gray squama- like rock made by the crust movement which resembles the silver armour of the warrior. The limestones on the top of the mountain are present in tawny looks like golden helmet of the warrior.

Halfway up to the hill at the south bank of Golden Helmet and Silver Armour Gorge, there is a deep cave called Mouse Hole. At the mouth of the cave, there is a beige mouse-shaped rock. Gazing at a long distance, it seems like a standing mouse.

In the east of Mouse Hole is Chuanjian Gorge. Look out from the north bank of the gorge, on the swarthy ridge under the Zhaoyun Peak, there is a hole which has a legend. It is said that, King of Chu and Xiang Yu once held a martial art competition here to see who can penetrated the ridge.The king of Chu pulled the crossbow and penetrated the ridge just used one arrow. Then a hole remained. In the opposite side of the hole, there is a stone column direct to the blue sky and that is the other arrow left behind by Xiang Yu.
