Itinerary of Yangtze Victoria Sophia Cruise – Chongqing/Shanghai Downstream

Day 1 Depart Chongqing/Fengdu

10:00 am: sail from "Mountain City"- Chongqing. Then, there is an announcement on itinerary and facilities on board. In the afternoon, take a shore excursion to Fengdu, visiting either the "Ghost City", known for its status of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill, or the new relocation village, built for families who have moved as a result of the water rising in Yangtze River which caused by Three Gorges Dam. In the night, there are welcome banquet which held by captain and singing and dancing party.

Day 2 Thee Gorges/Lesser Three Gorges/ Three Gorges Dam Ship Locks

7:30-8:00: Sail through Qutang Gorge which is the shortest, narrowest and most dramatic one among Three Gorges.

9:00-13:00: Take a shore excursion to Lesser Three Gorges which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive.

13:30- 15:00: Sail through Wu Gorge which is known for its quiet beauty and forest-covered mountains.

16:00-18:00: Sail through Xiling Gorge (western section).

20:00-24:00: Sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship locks.

Day 3 Three Gorges Dam/Xiling Gorge

7:30-9:30: Visit Three Gorges Dam, the largest dam in the world.

9:30-11:00: Sail through Xiling Gorge (eastern section).

11:00-12:30: Sail through Gezhouba Dam ship locks.

The afternoon is culture activities and lecture time.

Day 4 Wuhan

In the afternoon, take a shore excursion to Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province. Visit the Hubei Provincial Museum.

Day 5 Huangshan Mountain

Excursion to Huangshan Mountain (Yellow Mountain"), one of China's most famous mountain ranges. Travel to this royal retreat through some of the country's most scenic rural areas. (Jiuhuashan or "Mountain of the Nine Lotuses" may be substituted if weather or road conditions do not permit visit to Huangshan Mountain.)

Day 6 Nanjing

Visit Nanjing, where you will tour the Sun Yat-sen Memorial and a Qing Dynasty style bazaar surrounding a Confucian Temple. In the evening, there is farewell party.

Day 7 Arrive at Shanghai

9:00: Arrive at Shanghai, which is China's dynamic international commercial center. The wonderful tourist ends.

Day 1 Depart Shanghai

17:00:Sail from Shanghai, China's dynamic international commercial center.

Day 2 Nanjing

There is announcement on itinerary and facilities on board in the morning.

Visit Nanjing, where you will tour the Ming Dynasty City Wall Museum and a Qing Dynasty bazaar surrounding a Confucian Temple.

In the evening, there are welcome banquet held by captain, singing and dancing party.

Day 3 Huangshan

Excursion to Huangshan Mountain ("Yellow Mountain"), one of China's most famous mountain ranges. Travel to this royal retreat through some of the country's most scenic rural areas. (Jiuhuashan or "Mountain of the Nine Lotuses" may be substituted if weather or road conditions do not permit visit to Huangshan Mountain.)

Day 4 Wuhan

In the evening, take an excursion to Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province. Visit Guqin Terrace, which commemorates an ancient legend of the friendship between Yu Boya who is a famous official and musician, and Zhong Ziqi who is a woodcutter.

Day 5 Sailing on the Yangtze River

Day 6 Yichang/Xiling Gorge/Three Gorges Dam/Ship Locks

In the morning, sail through Gezhouba Dam near Yichang

7:00-8:30: Sail through Xiling Gorge (eastern section).

8:30-10:30: Take a shore excursion to Three Gorges Dam, the largest in the world.

12:00-16:00: Enter the Three Gorges Dam ship locks.

16:00-18:00: Sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest, deepest of the Three Gorges.

Day 7 Wu Gorge/Qutang Gorge/Lesser Three Gorges

6:30-9:00: Sail through Wu Gorge.

9:00-13:00: Take an excursion to Lesser Three Gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive.

14:30-15:00: Sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest, narrowest and most dramatic gorge.

Day 8 Fengdu

9:00-11:30: Take a shore excursion to Fengdu, visiting the "Ghost City", know for its statues of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill.

In the evening, there are farewell banquet.

Day 9 Arrive in Chongqing

8:00: Disembark at picturesque Chongqing.
