Longgang National Geopark Will Become New Landscape in Three Gorges Tour

Before the short holiday of May Day, Chongqing Yunyang County will open the about 300 square meters wide Longgang National Geopark to visitors. As the fall of the landscapes in Longgang National Geopark reached 1400 meters, it will become a new highlight in the golden Yangtze River Three Gorges tour.

It is introduced by Xiao Chuhai who is the sub prefect of Yunyang County that the Longgang National Geopark is located on the fold belt in east of Chongqing, the transition zone of uplifting fold belt of Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Kweichow; the Mesozoic Triassic limestones which consist of the bases of landscapes in the scenic spot are over 1000 meters thick. There are Longgang karst topography, Stalagmite Gorge, Longku Gorge, Daandong Gorge, grass land and some other natural landscapes and the Tujia Nationality Cultural landscape in the Longgang National Geopark.

It is said that the Longgang National Geopark will open to visitors at April 26th, and the price of the entrance ticket is 160 RMB. Chongqing Tourism Department recommends visitors to choose two days tour. Visitors who want to travel to Longgang National Geopark can start from Chongqing and spend a night in Yunyang County town. Then, visitors not only can visit the Longgang National Geopark, but also can visit the Yunyang Zhang Fei Temple and some other traditional scenic spots in Three Gorges tour.
