The best time to have Three Gorges tour is in spring and autumn two seasons, when the temperature is moderate. In the past, the high season for Three Gorges tour is in the high flow period, when visitors can fully enjoy the beautiful scenery on the both banks of the Three Gorges. And ships only can go to Lesser Three Gorges and Mini Three Gorges in this period. In the low water period, as the water level in some parts is very low and ships can not go, so you may miss some beautiful scenic spots in your Three Gorges tour. After the Three Gorges Dam built, the water level in Three Gorges area increased over 100 meters. When you take Yangtze Cruise to visit the Three Gorges, Lesser Three Gorges and Mini Three Gorges, you can get same feeling in high water period and lower water period. But some historical relics and scenic spots at low water level are submerged by water; visitors can't see them any more.
