Journalist got the information from national 5A class scenic spot – Three Gorges Dam Scenic Spots that the tourist number of Three Gorges Dam Scenic Spot has broken through 1.75 millions in 2011, which is a new record in history.

Base on data, in this year, the tourist number of Three Gorges Scenic Spot increased 300,000 than last year; the increase range is about 20%. In this year, the scenic spot receipted 1.04 millions waterway visitors, increased 200,000 than last year, and the increase range is 22%; about 710,000 land way visitors, increased 100,000 than last year, and the increase range is about 18%.

It was introduced that the breakthrough of Three Gorges Dam Scenic Spot visitor numbers was attribute to the change of marketing strategy and tourism market pattern. Zhang Dahua, who is chief of Hubei Province Tourism Administration, said that in this year, Hubei tourism market is changing from tourist distributing center to tourist distributing center and tourist destination. Three Gorges Dam Scenic Spot taken event marketing, twitter marketing and some other new promotion systems, and got some achievements. Three Gorges Dam and the place around it have become the first choice of visitors.

Furthermore, the cooperation of Chongqing and Hubei also promoted the development of tourist market.
