We had the 4-day Yangze Cruise from Chongquing to Yichang by Victoria Jenna:
The cabin of the ship was small but clean and comfortable. It had an bathroom and a balcony where you could sit and watch the beautiful sceneries of Three Gorges.
The food of the ship was great, with a mixture of Chinese and Western style food available.
The service on board was excellent. the staff were all very kindly and helpful, and also most spoke good English. There were a number of activities and lectures on board which ere mostly good fun.
We took 3 excursions (one each day)
1) The Fengdu Ghost City: This is a bit cheesy, we just treated it as a bit of fun - don't expect too much from it.
2) The Lesser Three Gorges: We transfer to a smaller boat and sail down a side river to the Yangtze. The scenery here was very nice.
3) The Three Gorges Dam: I found this quite interesting, but my wife found it very boring.
The scenery along the river itself was beautiful, however not quite as stunning as I'd hoped. There is no doubt that the dam has diminished the scenery considerably, which is a great shame. Despite this I still enjoyed my Three Gorges trip very much.
I guess if you are in China for a short time then there are better ways to spend 4days, especially given what the dam has done to the views. However if you do decide to cruise down the Yangze then I thoroughly recommend the Victoria Jenna!
