Brief Introduction of Yichang Museum
Yichang Museum is located in Yiling Road No. 61, Yichang City, Hubei Province. Covering an area of 9700 square meters, construction area of 3825 square meters, building area of 8000 square meters. The exhibition building is a three layers antique building. The existing staff of 65 people. The museum made up of the office, archaeology department, exhibition department, mass work department, storage department, ancient folklore research office, library, security department, finance department and other departments.
History of Yichang Museum
The museum was the former Museum of Yichang District which established in April 1980. In April 1992, after the coalition of the several districts, the museum changed its name to Yichang Museum. In 1993, the new museum opened to the public.
Cultural Relics of Yichang Museum
Currently, the museum has more than 30, 000 cultural relics, including 17,035 cultural relics which unearthed in Three Gorges ,Yichang area. The cultural relics have various sorts, for instance, pottery, bronze ware, jade ware, gold ware, wood lacquer ware, calligraphy and painting. Those precious cultural relics have been exhibited in Hongkong, Taiwan, Paris and Guangdong.
